THE PANTS
WE TEND TO FORGET, BUT THE DIFFERENT TREATMENTS USED ON OUR PANTS TO MAKE THEM SOFT, GIVE THEM A WORN EFFECT, OR ON THE CONTRARY, A RAW ONE, MAKE THEM DELICATE TO CARE FOR. HERE ARE OUR TIPS. FIRST, MAKE SURE TO REFER TO YOUR LABEL.
First wash
For the first wash, before use, we recommend, to help the pants retain their original color for as long as possible, to set the dye as follows:
Soak the pants for 2 hours in a basin of water (about two liters) with four tablespoons of white vinegar or coarse salt. Then wash them in the machine on a delicate cycle without spinning, and lay flat to dry.
ATTENTION
Nothing can perfectly fix the indigo color of raw jeans and jeggings. This process helps reduce bleeding, but pants dyed with indigo will still fade a bit during the first 3-4 washes.
Maintenance washes
For maintenance, use gentle liquid detergent without any bleach. We recommend hand washing* or machine washing on a cold, delicate cycle or at low temperature. Feel free to wash it inside out to preserve the color (max 30°C), without spinning. Then, let it dry flat, avoiding tumble drying. Machine wash every five to six uses is sufficient.
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW BECAUSE :
-
The higher the temperature of the wash, the more the dye will bleed.
-
Spin-drying and tumble-drying create mottling and break the fibres of the fabric, making it more fragile.
-
Washing too often wears out, dulls and distorts trousers (especially those containing elastane), so avoid washing them too often.
-
Washing powder and detergents (including bleach) are too aggressive for trousers, and can discolour them or create stains.
Hand wash
Immerse the trousers in a basin of water with a capful of white vinegar or a bit of denim-specific detergent.
Let soak for 45 minutes.
Rinse with cold water.
Gently squeeze out (without twisting) by hand.
Lay flat to dry thoroughly to prevent deformation.
Ironing
Ironing is not recommended for jeans as it relaxes the fibers.
If ironing is permitted on your model, iron the pants inside out.
Avoid ironing over the seams, as this would flatten your jeans.
Opt for gentle ironing.
